A Thing Like No Other

Competition has become the way of man.

To attempt to inch-by another.

But I say . . .

Of what joy,

Of what value,

Of what satisfaction is it

To do what another can do.

What sort of greatness lies

In bettering another.

If one plays the same game

As the world,

He is simply a practitioner

In the world.

If one has not discovered

What no one else has discovered

Of what use is it

To speak of it

Or write about it.

If one is not

One Of A Kind,

Of what value is he.

If what one creates

Is not unlike anything else

Of what great value is it.

Of what significance is it

To be one of many.

If it can be found

Somewhere else,

There is little use

In making it.

The world

Is awash

In mimicry,

Showmanship,

Popularity,

And meager accomplishment.

To create something

Never before created

Is worthwhile.

To incrementally surpass another

Is mere work.

Of what significance

Is a “practitioner.”

One of a kind,

Never before seen,

Never before created,

Never before discovered,

A thing like no other . . .

This is worth

The devotion of a lifetime.

Once such things are discovered,

And created . . .

Of what use is it

To reveal all of it

To the people of the world.

For almost none of them

Will have the eyes for it.

They will be too lost

In their conditioning

To understand it.

And even if they desire to see it,

Or to have it,

Why should they receive it?

If a thing is discovered

And created

By way of a life’s devotion,

Should it not require a life devotion

On the part of the one who desires to see it

Or to have it.

The people of the world

Do not deserve to see such a thing,

Or to have such a thing,

Simply because they ask for it.

They do not deserve to see such a thing,

Or to have such a thing,

Simply because they are curious.

The rarer the thing

That is discovered,

And created,

The more it must be Protected

From the people of the world.

For they simply do not deserve it.

The devotion

Lies in the discovery

And in the creation.

Not in the destruction

That results

From its dissemination.

Created by Devotion,

Seen and had only by

The Devoted.

Within the domain of Devotion

And purity

Shall it live.

Never to be exposed

To the false light of the world.

Or to the insincere eyes

Of its people.

Namaste.
