The Fall Of The Human Species
It is easy
To take a human for granted.
The more that a human voluntarily does for another
The more likely he or she will be taken for granted.
Humans tend not to be appreciative creatures.
They tend to be opportunistic ones.
It matters not
What is the “right thing” to do.
There is no place
For preachiness
Or right’s and wrong’s
In the domain of Truth.
To Psychologists,
Advice columnists,
And therapists:
Get Lost.
Humans rarely do the “right thing.”
They only like speaking of it
And preaching to others about it.
Humans are disingenuous creatures.
They may be thankful for a moment,
But they will turn on the ones who supported them.
It is not possible to make blanket statements.
There are some truly exceptional and pure human beings in this world.
They most certainly exist.
But the bulk of human interaction
Is not with the rare,
But with the common.
The bulk of human interaction
Is not with the exceptional,
But with the garden variety.
It is not even that humans take another for granted.
In fact, they even ignore and malign the human.
Those who seek to change humanity
Are foolish.
They know nothing
Of human beings.
Humans are unreachable.
They are too brainwashed by concepts
To hear Truth.
They are too spellbound by smartphones
To see anything beyond the rectangular sphere.
What the human species is in potential,
Cannot be accurately defined.
It can be said that the species
Is full of enormous creativity
And boundless ingenuity.
But the human,
Upon contact with The World,
Falls to the depths.
He becomes a societal pawn.
A talking head.
A heartless coward.
And a dunce.
The World
Inserts a black rubber tube into his temple
And siphons all of his grey matter.
Are there any True Humans
Left in the world?
Perhaps one or two
Or three or five.
The rest are sitting with their faces lit up
By smartphones.
The rest are sitting on stools
In establishments that sell liquid poison.
The rest are watching daytime television
And nighttime politics.
The human is a fallen species.
What he deserves and does not deserve
Is a matter for God and the Universe.
But Nature is sure to be ashamed.
It created the glorious creature
Known as The Human.
And The Human
Created a purgatory
Known as The World.
Namaste.
