What Are You Doing
You cross your legs
And sit in meditation.
You practice mindfulness.
You burn incense.
You read books.
You listen to guru’s and experts.
You drink green tea.
So busy you must be.
Such a busy life.
Why do you do all of these things?
By all means
Do not stop.
Not at all.
Why do you do them?
Why do you want people to like you.
Why are you hungry for love.
Why do you want to show off.
Why do you seek the respect of others.
Why?
Why do you read books
And do what they prescribe.
Why do you listen to experts
And do what they say.
Does that expert know YOU?
Has he ever met YOU?
No?
Then why do you listen to generics
And generalities?
Do you not want to know
Only that which specifically and concretely
Applies only to You?
You want money.
Understandable.
So earn as much as you like.
You need air.
Understandable.
Inhale as much as you wish.
Why all the faith
In experts?
Based upon what track record?
Based upon what consistent successes?
Why all the faith?
Faith in whom?
For what?
Who knows anything?
If they know,
Why are they still searching?
And if they do not know
What can they really and truly tell YOU?
Listening to whom?
About what?
For what?
You do so many things.
So busy you must be.
So many things must be done.
And in the “correct” order.
And in the “correct” way.
Just as the expert prescribed.
Why?
What for?
To what end?
How many years have you been doing all of this?
What have you gained from all of this?
Do you even know who you are?
Do you even know what you want?
Is it wrong to be lost?
No.
Is it wrong to do all of these things?
No.
But why?
What for?
Where are you going?
What
Are you doing?
Namaste.
