Disbelief

Man will always be assaulted.

He will always suffer.

There is no other practical possibility for him.

Why is this so.

Because he has an aversion

To Reality.

He is intensely attracted

To viewing things in accordance

To the way he imagines they should be.

Reality

Is of no interest to him.

Nor should it be.

There is no law against

Living in one’s own fantasies.

Reality is harsh.

Truth is harsh.

There is very little that is nice,

And pretty,

And fragrant

About it.

But neither is Reality evil.

Or of ill-will.

It is

As it is.

But the human

Has been conditioned

To view things according to concepts

And ideals.

The entire world

Has been wall-papered

By society

And its minions.

There is nothing wrong with this.

But wallpaper cannot stop

Reality.

One can attempt to turn away,

Or close the blinds,

Or plant thousand-foot hedges . . .

But they will not stop the tornado.

Man cannot bring himself to accept

That everything he has learned

Is a lie.

That experts

Know nothing that is real and true.

That spirituality

Is empty fluff.

That self-help

Is noise.

That their problems

Can never be fixed

By the experts of the world.

That books

Are of no use

For non-mechanical things.

That prescriptions

Keep one chasing forever.

It is not an easy thing

To face the fact

That the foundation of one’s very existence

Has been a stack of lies.

And one is not required to.

But because of the pain

That comes with realizing

That one’s entire life has been a lie,

And that he has wasted it all,

He feels he has no choice

But to live in a world of belief and fantasy.

The Truths

Leave him shattered,

And shaken,

In a state of utter disbelief.

Disbelief is too much for him.

So he choose to live a life of . . .

Belief.

Thus,

Suffering, misery, disappointment,

And a life of endless chases,

Is the only practical possibility for him.

Namaste.
